Hello All! So on April 19th, 2015 I flew from Seattle Washington to Philadelphia. But then come to find out that staging was really in Cherry Hill, New Jersey instead. Our staging date was set for April,20th, 2015 and since I could not get in before noon on that day, I was flown in a day early. I was able to meet a few other PCVS upon arrival, that was really exciting. Today we went through staging which was only five hours long, but man it was tiring. There is just a lot of information that I have to take in and we talked about a lot of things and a lot of scenarios. But overall it was an excellent experience. The people in charge of our group really made us feel welcome and answered a lot of our questions. Our staging involved going over core expectations and what to really expect when we get to Lesotho, how to handle certain situations, and really trying to prepare for life in another country. It is now 12:21 AM and we are have to be down stairs in the lobby by 2 AM to leave for the Airport. I am in charge of the Airport portion of tomorrow, making sure that everyone checks all their bags and that we all make it to the gate safely and on time. Even though our flight does not leave until 11:15AM, we are going to have a lot of time to kill. We have a 15 hour flight to Africa and then we have another one hour flight to Maseru. Maseru is the capital of Lesotho. From their we are taken 20 Kilometers to another town where we will meet our host family for the next three months. It should be a ton of fun. I am excited to start this journey and I will write more when I can! :) | |
